Verso Laboratory In-Line Mixers

The Silverson Verso is a benchtop In-Line mixer specifically designed for laboratory and pilot-scale applications, engineered to deliver precise and reliable results.

The Verso offers excellent reproducibility when scaling up and provides an accurate and easy means of forecasting the performance of larger In-Line mixers under full-scale working conditions.

Advanced Monitoring and Control

The Verso Laboratory Mixer is equipped with essential features including a digital tachometer, ammeter, and programmable timer, invaluable for applications requiring stringent process validation and reproducibility.

The Verso is also fully compatible with the Silverson “DataLogger” program. This software records the speed and power draw of the mixer over time and displays it as a graph in real time.

In addition to the standard model, the Verso range includes two additional models, each designed to meet specific industry demands:

Verso UHS Ultra Sanitary Mixer
Crafted for stringent applications in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Food, Cosmetics, and other clean industries. It upholds the highest sanitary standards to ensure product integrity.

Verso-UHS-HV High-Viscosity Mixer
Ideal for mixing high-viscosity products. It incorporates the same unique and innovative ‘pumping rotor’ design as the production scale UHS-HV In-Line mixers. This substantially increases its self-pumping capacity, allowing it to process products such as gels, creams, sauces, and gum solutions on a laboratory scale.


How It Works

Silverson’s Verso Pilot Scale In-Line mixer offers a great many advantages to the processor - speed, versatility, self-pumping, aeration-free, guaranteed efficiency. At the heart of every mixer is Silverson’s high-performance rotor/stator workhead.

Stage 1

The high-speed rotation of the rotor blades within the precision-machined mixing workhead exerts a powerful suction, drawing liquid and solid materials into the rotor/stator assembly.

Stage 2

Centrifugal force then drives the materials towards the periphery of the workhead where they are subjected to a milling action in the precision-machined clearance between the ends of the rotor blades and the inner wall of the stator.

Stage 3

This is followed by intense hydraulic shear as the materials are forced, at high velocity, out through the perforations in the stator, then through the machine outlet and along the pipework. At the same time, fresh materials are continually drawn into the workhead, maintaining the mixing and pumping cycle.

Workheads

A comprehensive range of workheads and screens is available for all Silverson high shear mixers. These easily interchangeable workheads offer great versatility by allowing any machine to be adapted to perform a wide range of mixing operations including emulsifying, homogenizing, disintegrating, dissolving, dispersing, blending, particle size reduction, and de-agglomerating. Changing from one head or screen to another is quick and simple.

Mixer Options

Verso UHS Ultra-Sanitary Mixer

The Verso UHS is an Ultra-Sanitary version of the standard Verso machine, allowing it to be used for stringent applications in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries as well as Food, Cosmetics and other clean industries.

Verso-UHS-HV High Viscosity mixer

As well as a full range of production machines, Silverson offers a laboratory scale model. The Silverson Verso-UHS-HV is designed for processing higher viscosity mixes than the standard Verso model. This model incorporates the same unique and innovative ‘pumping rotor’ design as the production scale UHS-HV In-Line mixer which substantially increases its self-pumping capacity and facilitates easy scale up to Silverson’s production scale UHS-HV Series In-Line mixers.

FMX5 Laboratory powder/liquid mixer

The FMX5 is a laboratory scale version of the Silverson Flashmix powder/liquid mixer and provides a simple, effective and sanitary means of powder/liquid mixing. The unit is suitable for small scale manufacturing and R&D work with a typical batch size of up to 10 liters, depending on viscosity.

Verso Vessel Package

The Verso can be supplied with a Vessel Package comprising a 20 liter stainless steel vessel, vessel stand and valve.

L5M-A Laboratory Mixer

Over 40 interchangeable mixing assemblies are available for L5 Series Laboratory mixers. The unit features a durable, easy-to-clean white engineered polymer body.

All wetted parts are in 316L stainless steel with the exception of the bush which may be bronze alloy or PTFE.

The mixing unit may be effortlessly raised and lowered using the touchpad control, which offers increased cleanliness and reliability.
